Commissioner calls on Home Secretary in joint letter on police funding (22 Nov 2018)

West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Mark Burns-Williamson has today (22/11) joined the Mayor of London, Mayor for Greater Manchester and Police and Crime Commissioners in the West Midlands and Merseyside in signing an open letter to the Home Secretary/ Chancellor around police funding.

It calls for a reversal of overall shortfalls since 2010 and for compensation for Forces in relation to the planned police pension costs. It also highlights the need for flexibility within the police precept, alongside additional Government funding.

This latest combined message from 5 influential policing leaders across the country follows Mark's previous letter to the Chancellor over damaging funding announcements.
