Commissioner Supports Police Public Bravery Awards (31st Oct 2018)

West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) last night (30/10) attended the Police Public Bravery Awards in London.

It saw West Yorkshire nominee Bob Wells pick up a silver award after intervening in a robbery.

PCC Mark Burns-Williamson was there in both a local and national capacity as Chair of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners:

"It is extremely humbling to hear the accounts of so many across the country who have put others before themselves in support of the police and their communities.

"Acknowledging this public spirited attitude is more important than ever before, as it is only by working together in partnership that we can tackle those involved in criminal behaviour.

"I know that the standard of nominations has been particularly high this year, which makes their selfless actions all the more inspiring.

"It is equally pleasing to see an individual from my own county highly commended and recognised at this national level."
