PCC response to Timpson Review on School Exclusions (8 May 2019)

Responding to the publication of the Edward Timpson Review on School Exclusions, West Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Association of PCC's Chair and Serious Violence Lead, Mark Burns-Williamson OBE, said:

"I welcome this extensive report by Edward Timpson on school exclusions. Research has shown us that children out of school are far more likely to end up in the criminal justice system and that mainstream schooling provides for the best outcomes. We now need to see the recommendations urgently acted upon supported by the appropriate investment."
