PCC statement in response to murder investigation in Linthwaite, Kirklees

Responding to the murder investigation in Linthwaite, Kirklees, Mark Burns-Williamson, West Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), said: “I am deeply saddened by what has clearly been a very serious incident overnight. My thoughts are with the families and colleagues of those affected as well as the community and emergency services that attended. 

“I have been fully briefed by the Chief Constable and I am being kept up to date with developments as the investigation progresses. I am aware that West Yorkshire Police have swiftly made a number of arrests and there appears to be no wider threat to the community as a result.

“I would echo the call from West Yorkshire Police in that anyone who has information on this incident should contact the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team on 101 referencing police crime number 13200028683.

“Information can also be given in confidence to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
