Final week to have your say on the 2021/22 policing budget for West Yorkshire
7th January 2020
Mark Burns-Williamson, West Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is asking local communities to have their say on the policing budget for 2021/22.
An online survey calling for views was initially launched in December www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/Police2021. It’s now entering its final week for responses and Mr Burns-Williamson is asking as many people as possible to take part.
The survey asks people how they would like to see money raised and invested for the police part of the local council tax, called the 'precept'.
Mark Burns-Williamson, said: “We’ve had a good response to the survey so far but of course we want as many people as possible to have their say and for obvious reasons having to consult fully online.
"It only takes a few minutes to read and fill in, and I would really value the public’s feedback as I look to prepare the final proposals that will determine the level of services and investment for West Yorkshire Police in 2021/22 and beyond.
“I am very aware of the nationwide Covid lockdown restrictions having a severe economic impact, along with a host of other pressures, so it’s even more crucial that I hear from as many people as possible about policing and community safety priorities.”
The survey is open for responses until 5pm on the 15th January 2021.
