Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire | WYPCC

Drugs and Alcohol Misuse

Substance abuse can be linked to crime and ASB, and therefore causes harm not only to the individual but also to the wider community. I will review our progress in reducing the number of people struggling with substance abuse, and will work to educate around the risks of drugs and alcohol through local level funding, for example that provided through Safer Communities Fund projects, and other districtwide initiatives we support. We will work with our partners to identify how we can best tackle drug and alcohol misuse; reviewing and learning from our experience of support and intervention programmes, so we can work effectively to lessen the effects of substance abuse in our communities.

Drugs and Alcohol Misuse Priority Plan

So that we can all understand more about what we are doing together and want to do together to deliver on our priority areas of work we have developed our 'Priority Plans'.

These plans will be refreshed and renewed and are work in progress but we will report on our delivery against these Priority Plans in public facing Community Outcomes Meetings.

We want to demonstrate the difference we are making in our communities but we also want to know what else we could be doing to keep people in West Yorkshire safe and feeling safe.

If you have a positive contribution to make to our Priority Plans please contact the office.
